In spring 2017, I happily accepted an invitation from Dr. Dong Ming Kim, Professor at Jeonju University, to present my work to Korean certified music therapists and students at the annual conference of the National Association of Korean Music Therapists in Seoul. A series of 3 lectures, video excerpts, and experiential learning focused on song improvisation
1) Discovering client’s musical and clinical themes;
2) Creating songs using those themes; and
3) Developing and expanding songs in collaboration with our clients.
It was a special privilege to be hosted and translated by my former students, all noted therapists and teachers in Korea--Young Shin Kim, Hye Seon Baek and Hye Jin So.
